Where’s The 3rd Intifada?
The First Intifada was characterized by mass protests, general strikes, and boycotts. This wave of resistance continued for six years until the signing of the Oslo Accords, which began in September 1993 and introduced the prospect of Palestinian statehood. This raises the question of a Third Intifada. While the last phase of escalated genocide against the Gaza Strip has provoked millions around the world to educate themselves, mobilize, and stand in solidarity with Palestinians and the people of Gaza, the same scale and intensity of unified resistance across the Palestinian territories is noticeably absent in the current day context as compared to the First and Second Intifadas.
Christmas in Palestine
Christmas in the birthplace of Sayyidina Isa, peace be upon him, is being suffocated by Zionist occupation and genocide. This piece reflects on Palestinian Christian life under attack, Muslim Christian coexistence in Palestine, and how faith remains a root of resistance and steadfastness.
Never Trust A Zionist Ceasefire
After 15 months of brutal genocide, the Zionist enemy accepted the same ceasefire terms that Hamas proposed 8 months ago, with nothing to show for it. None of the goals of the “Israeli” regime were accomplished. Netanyahu was forced to concede to the deal because he suffered a humiliating loss.
“Israel” failed to secure the return of all hostages or dismantle Hamas both as a political party and a military regime. The notion of eradicating Hamas proved to be futile because it is not just a group but an enduring idea that cannot be killed. Contrary to their objectives, resistance has gained the support of people worldwide.
Betrayal in Jenin
The Palestinian Authority (PA), under the leadership of Mahmoud Abbas, operates as a dictatorship that functions to uphold the Zionist settler-colonial system, oppressing Palestinians rather than protecting their liberation. This betrayal of the Palestinian struggle is evident in its recent actions in Jenin, where the PA's violent crackdown against resistance groups has underscored its role as a subcontractor for Israeli interests.
October 7th and Beyond
On October 7th, Hamas's Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was initiated with the dual purpose of liberating Palestinians who are unjustly imprisoned by the “Israeli” Zionist regime and amplifying the Palestinian cause on a global stage.
Al Aqsa Intifada
The Al-Aqsa Intifada, which lasted from September 2000 to February 2005, was a Palestinian uprising driven by deep frustrations with Zionist colonization and failed ‘peace’ talks.
Over the course of 4 years, more than 4,464 Palestinians were murdered, including 1,262 children, 274 women, and 32 medical personnel. Additionally, over 9,800 Palestinians were taken as hostages. The uprising left 47,440 people injured, 10,000 of whom were children.
In terms of property destruction, over 5,000 homes were demolished, and 6,500 more were damaged beyond repair. This intifada symbolized the Palestinian struggle against occupation and injustice.
